It's a tale as old as time... young lovers, finding each other on a palm-sized computer and agreeing to accept one another into their isolation bubbles during a global pandemic ❤️ .

Like many 21st century love stories, ours began on Hinge ("the app meant to be deleted"), where Katie was enamored with Zac's self-proclaimed love language (tacos), and Zac was struck by Katie's smile in a photo of her picking apples (in a Gryffindor scarf, of course - he looked past her selection into a house of wizard bullies). We clicked immediately, and the conversation was non-stop for a week. The first night of messages focused on one of their ongoing shared loves - food. They discussed tacos, cheeseburgers, and everything else delicious until 1am. The only downside was that Zac was about 6 hours into a Yom Kippur fast and knew it would be a struggle - but one that was well worth it.

Finally, we moved from messaging to our first in-person date, an 8-hour picnic in Coldwater Canyon Park in Beverly Hills. Once again, we bonded over our shared love of food, with a full spread of charcuterie, wine, and bottled water (Zac brought FIJI Water, of course, while Katie trolled him by bringing Liquid Death). Zac brought Sprinkles cupcakes, and we were pleased to learn that we both hated red velvet and much preferred the pickle flavored cupcake (the theme of the box was "Pregnancy Cravings"). We would still be in that park to this day if Katie's phone hadn't started to light up every few seconds with text messages and phone calls from concerned friends and family with whom she had shared her location - which hadn't moved from a remote park in a concerning amount of time. Thus, we parted with a hug and a promise of another date.

The rest, as they say, is history (and a very enjoyable one). We've traveled to Hawaii, Italy, Paso Robles, Boston, New York, San Diego, Disneyland, Nor Cal, and Mississippi, with plans to travel a lot more. We love cooking together, cuddling on the couch, spending time with family and friends, and our new favorite hobby - planning the rest of our lives together.
